“İsa'nın Kardeşi” sıfatı, biyolojik bir bağın ötesinde aynı zamanda Hıristiyanlık tarihinin önemli teolojik tartışmalarından birini ifade eder. Within the area of tension between the doctrine of Mary's perpetual virginity and historical data, a remarkable figure emerges: James the Just. Moving beyond the narrative of church history that is often shaped around prominent figures like Peter and Paul, this present study traces the footsteps of "James the Just," one of the leading figures of the post-Jesus movement. Standing at the head of the first community of believers in Jerusalem, James played a crucial role in the shaping of early Christianity through his adherence to the Jewish Law and his strong authority. Why, then, was the role of James—one of the figures closest to Jesus—relegated to a more limited framework in later tradition? How was this figure positioned during the formation and interpretation processes of the sacred texts? This book aims to re-evaluate the overshadowed story of "James the Just," caught between tradition and history, in the light of historical data.
